The “ ERECTUS ” procedure and the idea to create the FIRST WINE IN THE WORLD that is made from the ERECTUS clusters was born from my invention in 2005 in the region of Tuscany and Emilia Romagna.

In the past three years I have been intensively occupied with these fascinating plants that have been with us since the beginning of time

I have been taught by great teachers from Italy and France.

One day, after participating in a private lesson of vine growing with Dr. Ruggero Mazzilli in Tuscany, I went back to visit my vineyard and saw the plants in a different perspective. I was trying to receive a message from them that maybe they have been trying to send for ages.

The message was to respect the vascular structure of the plant or better known as the veins that help provide the circulation and nutrients to the plant.

In the first stages of growth, the clusters are facing towards the sky, thanks to principal of Acrotony ; in the next stage, the cluster grows and begins to drop looking towards the ground due to the increased weight.

The stem bends and in that curve it enlarges creating a vascular depression that, on my opinion, causes a barrier to the normal circulation of lympha between the plant and the cluster.

To understand the concept a little better I will provide you with an example:

Try to squat down with your knees bended for a few minutes and you will begin to lose sensibility on the “curve” that in this case is your knee, once you resume the standing position “ ERETUS ” you will find that your circulation is much better.

I would like to point out that the cluster and it’s stem are the reproductive system of the plant.

As it exists with human , if we were to facilitate the circulation of lympha between the sexual organ (the cluster) and the rest of the body (the plant) we would improve the reproductive system.

Just like as the “ ape man “ evolved to the “ homo ERETUS “, in the same way now we can help the evolution of the ape cluster to ERECTUS cluster.

ERECTUS is the patented name of this extremely natural wine made through the real selection of each single perfect berry.

These grapes are to be placed in precious amphoras made of  pharmaceutic  glass  so that the unique characteristics of this juice are not altered

The limited numbered bottles will be sold on the market with conditions not yet defined because of the increasing demand.

At the beginning, the profits of the sales of some bottles will go to children in need

The philosophy of “ Maximum Care ” can be seen as to expensive and requiring to much additional work for companies.

Is it easier to work less to produce a partial potential ?

Everyone has said , theorized, or practiced different or strange methods of growing and pruning the vines. But no one has ever thought of interfering with the process of the clusters growth by helping a natural process.

The news is in the philosophy of growth that the cluster will face toward the sky.

Already this has become an unique characteristic of the ERECTUS wine.

My philosophy, as any other discovery, will have those who will be in favour or those who will be against it.

Technical, chemical and physical results of this new practice, even though important, have not been relevant in the standard procedure of winemaking because of the acceptance of the normal practice of cluster growth.

At the same time, the technical, chemical and physical results are being altered due to the acceptance of many substances that are used in winemaking to allow for the loss in quality.

My philosophy cannot be analyzed or standardized.

The originality and creativity should be rewarded or at least not blocked, as it takes into consideration the excellence of wine making by improving sensibility towards nature.
